About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Human Resources / Payroll Officer to join our People and Culture team in Burwood East. Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, this role is responsible for performing our fortnightly and monthly pay cycles, whilst also supporting the broader Human Resources team by contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and projects that facilitate the RSPCA’s vision, mission and purpose.


Roles Duties & Responsibilities:

This diverse and interesting role will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to:

  • Deliver timely and accurate payroll services, including fortnightly and monthly payroll, taxation, worker’s compensation, salary packaging and superannuation payments;
  • Monitor and maintain accurate payroll records and prepare regular and adhoc reports for the business in a timely manner;
  • Provide advice and support to managers in relation to payroll, time sheeting, conditions of employment, recruitment and selection, learning and development, health and safety, and remuneration and benefits;
  • Contribute to the delivery and implementation of HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives; and
  • Perform Human Resources and Workplace Health and Safety administration tasks relating to the employee life cycle and key people related processes.

Skills & Experience:

To be successful in this position, you will need the following skills, experience and qualifications: 

  • Previous knowledge, skills and experience in a Payroll and/or Human Resources position is required;
  • Strong time management and organisation skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines, and juggle multiple priorities;
  • A willingness to engage effectively with a wide range of people and offer excellent customer service to the business;
  • The ability to work in a team environment and willingness to contribute to and drive change to improve efficiencies within the team;
  • The capability to work productively in a varying and fast-paced environment, whilst also maintaining strong levels of attention to detail;
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite and previous experience using HR3 payroll system is desirable;
  • A relevant qualification in a related field is highly desirable.
