About the role

We are currently recruiting for casual Customer Care Officers to join the team at RSPCA Epping.

The successful candidate will effectively coordinate solutions for RSPCA customers, by ensuring the provision of a professional, accurate, timely and pro-active approach to quality customer service. The successful candidate will also drive the sale of retail products and promote other RSPCA services.

Applicants will be required to work over a rotating roster which includes weekends and public holidays as required.

Roles duties & responsibilities 

  • Provide an outstanding service experience to all customers visiting or calling the RSPCA;
  • Drive retail sales and promote services offered by the RSPCA;
  • Facilitate animal reclaim collections in line with council contractual obligations;
  • Assist customers surrendering their pet, bringing in stray animals or adopting a new pet;
  • Facilitate tracing on animals to reunite them with their owners;
  • Provide advice and assist customers with adopting a new pet;
  • Provide care and enrichment to the animals in the adoption areas;
  • Respond to customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner; and
  • Actively ask customers if they would like to make a donation to contribute towards the care of other.  animals at the RSPCA.

Skills and experience required 

  • Demonstrated experience providing outstanding customer service;
  • Ability to remain professional and empathetic in highly emotive situations;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to be a positive and confident member of a team;
  • Strong administration and computer skills;
  • Cash handling experience;
  • Excellent problem solving skills and a high attention to detail; and
  • Positive demeanour and a can-do attitude is essential.
