About the Role

We’re looking for experienced nurses to join our large, dynamic clinic with 50 nurses and 25 vets. With five operating theatres, eight consulting rooms, and advanced diagnostic equipment, you’ll handle routine and complex procedures while providing top-notch care to hospitalised patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be involved in patient care of surgical, medical, inspectorate and shelter patients under the care of RSPCA VIC. Monitor patient comfort, vital signs and maintain patient charts, including but not limited to administering medications, ensuring treatment plans are upheld, managing and delegating patient toileting, physiotherapy and exercise.
  • Monitor & maintain patient CRI's and fluid therapy.
  • Provide nurse consults, triages, admissions, discharges and foster consultations
  • Be the first point of contact for concerned pet owners with the support of a dynamic veterinary team
  • Maintain a high standard of organisation and cleanliness
  • Process, clean & pack surgical instruments in a dedicated central sterile storeroom
  • Recover patients post anaesthesia
  • Perform in house pathology
  • Provide assistance to medicine, surgical, ophthalmology and shelter veterinarians
  • Provide support to volunteers and share expertise with junior nurses

Qualifications and Recruitment Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing is desirable or equivalent experience is essential.
  • Evidence of current tetanus vaccination required.
  • Willingness to perform a National Police Check.
