We're seeking an experienced Business Manager to play a pivotal role in driving excellence and growth at our Burwood East Clinic. Working closely with our Chief Veterinarian and key stakeholders to optimise operations, improve patient care, and enhance client experiences across private and shelter clinics.

Key responsibilities include cost control, budget forecasting, performance reporting, continuous improvement, customer engagement, and strategic decision-making.

What we are looking for from you

  • An exceptional operator with strong business acumen and a hands-on approach to get the job done.  
  • Ensure our Burwood clinic cost controls are maintained for both private and shelter patients, with particular attention to wages,  COGS and consumables.
  • Assist in formulating forecast budget for all vet hospitals and adjusting operational forecast based on clinic performance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to operate as a team player, generate enthusiasm in the team and build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • A passion for delivering exceptional service RSPCA Victoria’s vision of providing excellence in veterinary care and procedures to patients from all socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Ability and desire to coach staff new to the sector and organisation.
  • Resilience and a strong collaborative drive.
  • A desire to work with the community to improve animal welfare outcomes.
  • Identify and analyse problems as they arise and develop innovative solutions within discrete parameters.

 

Skills and other requirements

  • Veterinary experience with previous experience as a Business Manager in Veterinary Clinics desirable, but not essential
    • Candidates without veterinarian qualifications, but with extensive experience in veterinary clinic business management and a strong understanding of shelter operations, are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • MBA highly desirable, but not essential
  • Shelter experience highly desirable.
