About the Role We are currently searching for an experienced and self-motivated Events and Community Fundraising Officer to join our Fundraising Team in a permanent full-time capacity. This role will be responsible for supporting the promotion and implementation of RSPCA Victoria’s events and community fundraising programs, including the iconic Million Paws Walk event to raise income for RSPCA Victoria and enable the organisation to achieve its vision of ending cruelty to all animals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support in the management of RSPCA Victoria events and community fundraising programs, including the promotion, resourcing, organisation and review of all event and program related activities to maximise their success and contribution to the organisations fundraising efforts.
Support the Events and Community Fundraising Manager with ongoing development of new event partnerships at both a community and corporate level.
Provide support and guidance to volunteers and supporters that are involved in events and community fundraising programs;
Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment by effectively communicating and working collaboratively with peers across all departments, and consistently behaving in accordance with the RSPCA Victoria values and associated policies.
Takes reasonable care for the safety of oneself and others, whilst contributing to safe work practices at RSPCA Victoria by knowing and complying with all WH&S policies and procedures.
What we are looking for
Previous experience in supporting events and community fundraising programs, including communication and administration skills to accurately communicate event objectives and key messages to suppliers, sponsors, community supporters and RSPCA members.
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to work on weekends and outside of standard business hours as required by individual events.
Basic knowledge of fundraising legislation, practices and philosophies of charitable giving.
Bachelor’s Degree in Event Management or equivalent qualification
Willingness to undergo a National Police Check.
